Are you looking for ways to prevent the spread of bacteria?

July 2022

Achieving the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness has now become more important than ever, particularly in schools, educational and healthcare environments where caring for children, young and vulnerable people is top priority.

“Around 70% of common illnesses are spread by hands that have touched everyday surfaces.”

Microbes are all around us. Some microbes, especially bacteria, are a high contamination risk and result in the spread of disease.

So what can we do to minimise this risk and prevent the further spread of germs from surfaces?

We have a huge range of fixed furniture solutions treated with our unique Boyco ‘Hot-dip’ Nylon coating which is 100% renewable, safe and can prevent the spread of 99% of all known bacteria within 24 hours. (Made from castor oil, an actual waste/scrubland product, this ensures we are totally committed to ‘green’ processes.)

The ‘Hot-dip’ Nylon coating which is used as standard across our entire range of steel products, such as grab rails, cloakroom furniture and door restraints, not only ensures that our products have exceptional durability and longevity, but it is also formulated to stop bacteria surviving on its surface therefore preventing the spread of 99% of all known bacteria.

This is an excellent complement to proper cleaning procedures and is effective in particular against E.Coli Staphylococcus aureus, Legionella pneumophila, Salmonellla typhimurium and MRSA.

“Some cold and flu germs can survive on surfaces for up to 72 hours.”

Here at our in-house UK factory, our experienced Boyco craftsmen ensure that each steel product is individually treated with our unique ‘hot-dip’ nylon coating and meets the highest of standards in terms of finish, colour and resistance.

As we are convinced of the distinct advantages and benefits to the use of anti-microbial properties on surfaces and furniture solutions, we also use an anti-microbial water born lacquer as standard across our range of timber products which protects against the growth of microorganisms on the surface with a kill rate of 99% within 24 hours.
